This is an Genuine OEM Lochinvar SPDT Water Pressure Switch used in EnergyRite (model ERN/ERL) pool & spa heaters, which acts as a safety mechanism, ensuring adequate water flow through the heat exchanger before allowing burners to ignite. The switch monitors pressure continuously, if the water pressure reaches its designated threshold (between 1 to 5 psi), the switch determines it is safe to fire the burners and sends a signal to the main control board, allowing the ignition sequence to begin. If water pressure drops below the minimum threshold, power to the gas valve is cut immediately, extinguishing the burners before damage occurs.
