PROtech 3″ Trichlor Chlorine Tablets
Price range: $40.96 through $274.00
3 inch (in.) Stabilized Chlorinating Tablets
3” Chlorinating Tablets are a slow dissolving form of stabilized chlorine called trichloro-s-triazinetrione (trichloroisocyanuric acid), commonly known as “trichlor”. Trichlor is a highly concentrated source of chlorine and is primarily used to disinfect and sanitize pool water. Trichlor reacts with water to sequentially release three molecules of hypochlorous acid, the active killing form of chlorine. Each 3″ tablet is an 8 oz. “hockey-puck” shaped stabilized slow dissolving chlorine tablet, and has the power of 90% available stabilized chlorine with 99% active ingredient. This product dissolves slowly and completely in water, and is particularly suited for continuous dosing. Works great in floaters, skimmers or almost any automatic chlorine feeders.
AVAILABILITY:
- 3” Chlorinating Tablets are available with childproof easy-open lids in the following sizes below
- individually wrapped – 5 lb. & 10 lb. pails
- unwrapped – 25 lb. & 50 lb. buckets.
BENEFITS:
- Slow Dissolving – Simplifies pool care with long lasting routine chlorination through skimmer, feeder or floater application.
- Built in UV stabilizer – Prevents sunlight from degrading the chlorine.
- Continuous Killing Power – 90% available chlorine continuously kills bacteria and controls algae.
- Clears Up Hazy Water – kills and oxidizes contaminants that lead to dull, hazy water.
- Ideal for All Pool Surfaces
- Economical – low cost, easy to use product.
APPLICATION:
- For new pools and fresh fills, first stabilize the pool with the recommended amount of Cyanuric Acid following the dosage chart on the product.
- Balance pool water to recommended ranges of total alkalinity and calcium hardness according to directions on the product labels.
- Superchlorinate with a suitable granular product by following directions on that product’s label to establish a free chlorine residual of 1-3 ppm.
- Keep pump-filter system running for at least 10 hours after treatment. DO NOT reenter pool until chlorine residual drops to 1-3 ppm.
- For maintenance treatment, first adjust and maintain pH in the range of 7.2 to 7.8. Use a suitable granular product to establish a free available chlorine residual of 1-3 ppm.
- For maximum effectiveness, first stabilize the pool with 25-35 ppm of Cyanuric Acid to reduce chlorine loss in sunlit pools.
- Using Floaters and Chlorinators:
• Dispense this product in an appropriate floating or stationary device, such as an automatic chlorinator.
• Fill the feeder with this product and adjust the feeding mechanism to provide a continuous level of 1-3 ppm free available chlorine as determined by a test kit or test strips. Always follow manufacturer’s instructions.
• Normally, about 2 ounces of this product per 10,000 gallons of water will be needed daily. Chlorine demand will vary with weather and degree of pool use. - Using Skimmers:
• Skimmers may be used to dispense this product ONLY if the skimmer and piping to the pump is plastic.
• Never add other products through the skimmer when using this product, fire and explosion may result.
• Initially, add 1 tablet to the skimmer per 10,000 gallons of water. Additional tablets may be added as necessary to maintain a 1-3 ppm free available chlorine residual as determined by a test kit. Avoid direct contact with vinyl or other bleachable surfaces.
